KYIV, Jan 22 — A tearful Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky attended a memorial service yesterday to commemorate seven senior officials killed in a helicopter crash, a fresh blow to a nation already grieving its many war dead.
Another seven people were killed, including one child, in the crash. Officials are still investigating the cause.The helicopter went down just days after at least 45 people were killed in a Russian missile attack that partially levelled a block of flats in the southeastern city of Dnipro. Zelensky issues a daily video address in which he usually discusses the war, but yesterday he talked only about the death of Monastyrskyi.
