An immediate outcome of this restored relationship between the institution and the government is that RM58mil from the government for this year will be directly channelled and managed by the owner of the institution.
“The disbursement of the allocation to TAR UC will return to its original system and mechanism used by the government from 1969-2018, where allocation for the operating and development expenditure to TAR UC will be channelled through the Higher Education Ministry. Lim also said the fund would be channelled through a new trust fund to be managed by the Tunku Abdul Rahman Alumni Association .
This matching grant will be channeled through the Ministry of Higher Education this year under Budget 2020, he added.
TARUC should be accountable to the public by tracking how every sen of this money is spent for students benefits. Oopss.. It's actually up to the foundation how to spend the money. Hope they spend every sen for the students.
