KOTA KINABALU: A villager in Tambunan district had a whole search and rescue operation mounted for him when his family reported him missing.

Fortunately, the 29-year-old Helry Junior Michel who was reported missing at around 6.20am on Monday , turned up safe and sound in the wee hours of Tuesday .

Tambunan Fire Station chief Desmond Dominic said after receiving a distress call on the first day, a search operation was mounted at Kg Lobou-Lobou. "The operation went on till around 2.16am before we stopped. It was supposed to recommence at 7am, Tuesday ," he said when contacted."We got confirmation from the police that the person who filed a missing person’s report had lodged another one at 6.59am, informing authorities of Helry’s safe return," Desmond said.
