It was, therefore, with much anticipation that residents of all age groups and races gathered for a National Day celebration after a two-year hiatus. Some 250 people sang the national anthem Negaraku before mingling over nasi lemak and teh tarik.Hod joked during his speech that eucalyptus trees planted during their previous celebration in 2019 had now fully matured.Kajang Municipality Community Association president Datuk Ravishanker Thambiah said the event was aimed at fostering unity.Also present were Hulu Langat MP Datuk Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus and Kajang Zone 2 councillor Farhan Haziq Mohamed.
Hasanuddin hoped the event would instil patriotism and reminded participants of the sacrifices made by past leaders to achieve Independence.Article type: free
