KUALA SELANGOR: Taman agro teknologi di bawah Institut Penyelidikan dan Kemajuan Pertanian Malaysia dilaporkan menerima kunjungan lebih sejuta pelancong dengan pendapatan sehingga RM20 juta pada tahun ini.
“Taman Agroteknologi Cameron Highland antaranya mencatatkan kehadiran pelawat tertinggi iaitu purata 3,500 hingga 5,000 sehari. Selain itu, Taman Agroteknologi Langkawi dan Tanjong Karang mencatatkan jumlah pengunjung ramai,” katanya ketika ditemui selepas merasmikan Taman Agro Teknologi MARDI Tanjong Karang, hari ini.
Foong Hin memberitahu, kajian oleh MARDI itu perlu bagi menghasilkan benih yang tahan dengan perubahan iklim dan cuaca global tidak menentu ketika ini. Utusan Malaysia sebelum ini melaporkan Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi diarah membangunkan penggunaan varieti benih padi tahan lasak terutama bagi menghadapi bencana banjir tidak menentu.
