KUALA LUMPUR: Employers have been reminded to observe the RM1,500 minimum wage requirements that have been implemented since May 1 to ensure the wellbeing of Malaysians.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said employers must take this requirement seriously because workers are the core of any organisation.''They can make or break a business.

''I ask all employers to be serious about this,'' he said in his speech at the launch of the Keluarga Malaysia Jamin Kerja job fair at WTCKL here on Monday .To overcome any shortcomings, Ismail Sabri called on the Human Resources Ministry to engage in talks with employers and workers representatives to find the best approach and solutions.

''A tripartite consultative approach through the National Labour Advisory Council can also be sought to reach a consensus for the well-being of all Malaysian Families. ''I urge employers, including government agencies, government-linked companies and the private sector to provide the best job opportunities and incentives for job seekers,'' he said.

As of July 1, Ismail Sabri said statistics fron MyFutureJobs showed that the monthly salary range of most job offers nationwide were between RM1,200 and RM2,000, which he said was ''somewhat disappointing.''''However, I am somewhat disappointed because the salaries offered by the employers have not been on par or a match to the qualifications and job scope of the local workforce,'' he said.

Hi Sabri , please take this seriously too RM1500 a month min wages vs RM1000 a day for MPs ( for doing nothing )

Make a deal with employers. Cut cabinet and salaries of Ministers by 50%. Then ask employers to pay minimum wage. Lead by example.

Most SMEs are either struggling or about to gulung tikar Take this seriously IsmailSabri60
