Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok says she is concerned over recent news reports regarding unfavourable relations, stating Malaysia is open to talks to address India’s concerns over the trade imbalance.
Additionally, Malaysia is also looking into the prospect of importing more buffalo meat from India to meet the increasing local demand, she said. The announcement was made following an inter-ministerial meeting involving senior officers from the foreign affairs, trade and industry, agriculture and agro-based industry, transport, and domestic trade and consumers affairs ministries yesterday.
This was the second senior officials’ inter-ministerial meeting following Kok’s discussion with India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in August this year in New Delhi.
