Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said Kg Layang-Layangan had been declared a dengue hotspot.
“It is a worrying situation. If not controlled, clogged drains during the current rainy season will provide a haven for aedes mosquitoes to breed and trigger outbreak,” he told Bernama yesterday. He urged the local community to ensure that the surroundings were free from mosquito-breeding grounds. On the hand, foot, and mouth disease , he said this was under control despite the number of cases reported recently.
He also said only one case of Covid-19 was reported on the island on Friday, taking the cumulative infections to 21,309 cases.Article type: metered
