: Police heightened security control with a road block around Gate 2 of Istana Negara here today, while police presence has been launched nationwide with roadblocks mounted.
Commenting on policemen carrying firearms at the gate 2 compound, Amihizam said it was a standard operating procedure to carry firearms to enforce public order. The security aspect has also been updated from today where media personnel who want to enter the area are required to register at the police roadblocks.
Melaka police chief Datuk Zainol Samah said the roadblocks were already set up yesterday until further notice, involving about 20 personnel from of the Melaka contingent police headquarters.
