Johor MMEA director First Admiral Nurul Hizam Zakaria said that Malta-registered bulk carrier, MV Galapagos, was reported to have experienced steering system failure, causing it to move to the right and block the route of Great Britain-registered cargo ship, MV Zephyr Lumos.
He noted that MV Zephyr Lumos was on its way to the Suez Canal while MV Galapagos was heading towards India when the collision occurred at 12.03am early Sunday morning."Early investigations by the Johor MMEA showed that there is some damage to MV Galapagos as well as some oil spillage.
