PETALING JAYA: A doctor says Malaysians need to treat everyone they encounter in their daily lives as Covid-19 positive, so they should increase the precautions they take.

In a video clip posted on Facebook and Instagram on Friday after what she described as a"long, tiring, exhausting day at work, Dr Dhivya Dhyana said it was best for everyone to"stay away from everyone" else until the number of cases reduces.

"The family at home was not sure which wards they were in," she said, adding that the wards are huge and have many patients.Dr Dhivya said even more upsetting was when she learnt that three others from the same family were in the same hospital but in different wards. "Everyone thinks it's okay to just visit for a while, or 'I'm just gonna visit my friend for 10 minutes' or 'I'll just pass this to my neighbour'."Whether it's your neighbour, the food delivery rider, the aunty that you go for walks with, your friends or family, anyone can be Covid-19 positive. So you have to stick with that mentality.

Dr Dhivya also said patients who came to the hospital for non-Covid-19-related emergencies were unable to get treatment because of the overwhelming number of Covid-19 cases and a lack of resources.

That's....not a good advice. It breeds fear, paranoia and -if this sort of thinking takes deep root -downright dangerous for social values. Just say, Stay safe by maintaining safe distance from other people, and practice clean lifestyle and healthy living.

Paranoia personified. This woman needs psychiatric help. Going by her logic, she should assume that she is Covid positive and simply lock herself at home. How do such idiots become doctors? KKMPutrajaya DGHisham

my pov is, if ppl comes near u (no social distancing) or not wearing mask, just do an act of hard cough or a terrible sneezing act. then they will stay far from u. it works for me when few decided not2go inside a small lift with me.this is my modus operandi in desperate situation.

Statistically ' 1 in 30' Malaysians had Covid. And this number is rising. That brings meaning to EVERYONE. EVERYONE includes FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES.

How ridiculous!

Yes this is the best advice. Seriously isolation is the key. You want companion, wear a mask stay 1.5m away at least n

This is the only way people.

EVERYONE includes FAMILY, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES.

exactly! we must assume everyone we meet is Covid 19 positive.

Better still, assume that you are Covid-19 positive and stay away from everyone

Yes thats good advice

Then the social value will collapse,

Pleased exclude Politician because they can get Covid 19 and go to ........... Kita Jaga Kita
