SEOUL (Xinhua): South Korea reported 76 more cases of Covid-19 compared to 24 hours ago as of midnight Tuesday (March 24) local time, raising the total number of infections to 9,037.

The newly confirmed cases stayed below 100 for the third straight day. Of the new cases, 20 were imported from abroad.

A total of 341 more patients were discharged from quarantine after making full recovery, pulling up the combined number to 3,507. The number of recoveries kept surpassing new infections. The virus infection soared for the past weeks, with 9,006 new cases reported from Feb 19 to March 23. The country has raised its four-tier virus alert to the highest"red" level.
