"On Feb 24, when Dr Mahathir resigned, Bersatu supreme council held a meeting and unanimously rejected the resignation.
"In the party, the powers of Bersatu supreme council is absolute and therefore we can reject his resignation. It was a unanimous decision by Bersatu supreme council," said Marzuki. He said Article 16.9 of the party’s constitution states that if the chairman resigns or is sacked, the president of the party holds the position until a party election is held.
