Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 competes head-to-head with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, boasting enhanced performance and efficiency.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series consistently pushes the boundaries of mobile processing, offering diverse options for various market segments. However, in such cases it can be hard to choose which one is best. Both the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 are built on a cutting-edge 4nm fabrication process, signifying a leap forward in power efficiency and performance potential.

Examining performance, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 features an octa-core CPU with four high-performance Cortex-A710 cores clocked up to 2.4 GHz and four power-efficient Cortex-A510 cores at up to 1.8 GHz. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, however, boasts a heterogeneous octa-core architecture with a high-performance Cortex-X2 core clocked at 2.92 GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 2.5 GHz, and four power-efficient Cortex-A510 cores for enhanced efficiency.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 significantly outperforms the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 in graphics rendering due to its more advanced Adreno 720 GPU, offering superior graphical capabilities compared to the Adreno 644 GPU in the older model. In AnTuTu 10, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scores notably higher with approximately 866,000 points compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1’s score of 665,000 points.

Similarly, in Geekbench 6, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 achieves a single-core score of 1139 and a multi-core score of 3375, highlighting its superior CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. However, it is worth noting that these are synthetic tests and may not accurately reflect real-world performance.
