THE thick smoke that filled the corridor on Level 3 of Penang’s Komtar building yesterday and caused many people to evacuate the building was believed to be due to a faulty air handling unit in the building. A spokesman of Penang Fire and Rescue Department said based on initial investigations, the department found thick smoke emanating from the defective AHU.
