Sime Darby subsidiary says it is suing a contractor for back charges, variation order, overpayment for work not done, and final contractual sum.
PETALING JAYA: Sime Darby Energy Solutions Sdn Bhd has filed two separate suits against a construction and engineering company to recover about RM1.8 million for uncompleted work. Speaking to FMT, lawyer Vijay Velupillai who is representing SDES said the first suit amounting to RM1 million was filed in the High Court in Shah Alam in 2018.
“This action is for back charges and the trial will be held over for four days from Nov 15,” she said. For the second suit filed in 2019, Vijay said SDES, formerly known as Sime Darby Offshore Engineering Sdn Bhd, had filed a claim for close to RM800,000.Vijay said a two-day hearing from Nov 24 had been fixed in the Shah Alam High Court for the second suit.Last week, Alamrio Builders Sdn Bhd managing director M Murugu Subramaniam told FMT that he had obtained a garnishing order in early April for a bank to release to them whatever amount available in the account of SDES.
