Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) has seen significant flight disruptions because of a volcanic ash eruption, according to KKIA Senior Airport Manager Jefry Ramli.

Kota Kinabalu: Kota Kinabalu International Airport has seen significant flight disruptions because of a volcanic ash eruption, according to KKIA Senior Airport Manager Jefry Ramli.

Jefry revealed that a total of 12 flights to and from KKIA had to be cancelled, while five were rescheduled. "We understand the inconvenience this will cause for passengers, and we are doing everything we can to support the airlines and ensure the safety of air travel,” he said. Jefry said that the airlines are ultimately responsible for managing their own schedules and making decisions about flight changes. He advised passengers to contact their airlines directly for the most up-to-date information on the status of their specific flights.
