SIBU: It was a very sad Qing Ming for seven families here when they found the graves of their loved ones desecrated and the remains apparently stolen.

In a sinister development, it is also believed that those who committed the act had knowledge of burial customs and were after the bones of the dead.

However, they were greeted by the awful sight of the graves' cement surfaces prised open and the coffins burnt to ashes. "I only found out when my other sister and I went to the graveyard at about 11am on Sunday," he said."I believe the culprits burned . I am saddened by this inhuman act," he said, adding that he had lodged a police report.
