PETALING JAYA: Some national shuttlers have taken matters into their own hands while waiting to resume centralised training on June 1.

As there is still another 20 days to go, top shuttlers Lai Pei Jing, Vivian Hoo and her brother Hoo Pang Ron just can’t afford to wait.

For mixed doubles star Pei Jing, going back to basics rekindles the good times of playing with her family members. “Back then, we don’t need a net or even shoes. The wind would blow from every direction and you end up hitting the shuttle onto the rooftop. Like Pei Jing, it’s been close to two months since doubles veteran Vivian and her brother Pang Ron, a mixed doubles player, last stepped onto the court.
