The Penang legislative assembly convened its meeting on Friday, which lasted for about an hour-and-a-half - the shortest in its history. Read more at

It will comprise only the speech by the Yang diPertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas, followed by a speech by Opposition Leader Datuk Muhamad Yusoff Mohd Noor and ending with the response from Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

Abdul Rahman arrived at the assembly hall at 9.55am and the meeting is scheduled to adjourn by lunch time.Members of the press are not allowed into the grounds of Dewan Sri Pinang in Light Street, where the assembly is sitting.All are present, except for Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, who is on medical leave after shoulder surgery.
