Tapping on the shortcut will only lead to a special page that allows users to register their interest in trying Boost Bank. For now, it is unclear whether the shortcut will later launch the digital bank's own app separately, or have some kind of integration within the e-wallet itself. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when Boost Bank will be publicly available. But based on the addition of the cross-service shortcut, it is very likely that an official launch could potentially happen in the very near future.
For those who've missed it, the Axiata and RHB Bank operated digital bank received the approval to operate by Bank Negara Malaysia earlier this year. It then began operating in an alpha-testing phase on 15 January 2024, with access limited to a small number of users - mainly employees, friends, family, and a selected group of customers.
