KOTA KINABALU: As the campaign for the Sabah polls heats up, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal heads into the stronghold of Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chief Datuk Hajiji Noor, telling voters here to cut the entry of 'peninsular parties'.

Shafie also appeared unfazed over Perikatan Nasional ministers campaigning for Opposition candidates, saying he's confident that Sabahans are politically mature enough to decide for themselves. The Warisan president and caretaker chief minister said it is the federal government's obligation to ensure development in Sabah, as it is enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
