PUTRAJAYA: Blood pressure monitors, condoms, digital thermometers and medical test-kits are among the unregistered items seized by the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) this year.

Its chief executive Dr Muralitharan Paramasua said these medical devices and products, worth some RM500,000, were seized in five raids conducted across the country.

"These companies will also be charged in court under the Medical Device Act , which requires all medical devices manufactured, imported or distributed in Malaysia to be registered," he said after the signing ceremony between MDA and Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit here on Wednesday .
