GEORGE TOWN: Seven individuals arrested by the police for defying the movement control order here have been remanded for four days.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the seven suspects, aged between 23 and 56, would be in remande up to March 30. Asst Comm Soffian said the remand order was granted by George Town magistrate Nur Azzuin Abdul Moati when police brought all the suspects to the court early on Friday morning .Arriving in a police truck, all seven suspects in handcuff were escorted into the court compound at about 10.20am.On Thursday , police picked up six suspects after they were found playing football on a field along Jalan D.S. Ramanathan.
