The circuit was best known for hosting MotoGP and F1 races.

Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd will be getting an allocation of RM37.5 million under Budget 2020.

The race track was completed in 1999 and was one of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's key megaprojects back during his first stint in office. Then tourism and culture minister Nazri Abdul Aziz said the government spent RM300 million a year to host the F1 but did not get worthwhile returns.Meanwhile, regular road users can expect to see repaved federal roads next year.
