Senior minister calls for Malaysians to exercise self-control after MCO ends

He said it is impossible to impose rules and regulations on all aspects of life, citing the recent remarks by the Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah urging people not to visit family members’ graves during Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Adding that the World Health Organisation has predicted the risks posed by the virus could linger for up to five years or at least until a vaccine is found, the minister said it is impossible to extend the MCO for a whole two years.

“As such, we cannot keep on fining or penalising people after the MCO ends. Instead, they should know better. If something is dangerous, then do not do it,” he said.
