Speaking to reporters at a press conference at the Selangor police headquarters, police spokesman Ismail Muslim said under the second phase of the MCO public were prohibited from travelling beyond 10km radius to buy essential items, food, medical supplements or even to get health care services.

"For those who are required to travel for work purposes, it will now be made compulsory for the drivers to produce a letter from their employers. Before this, in the first phase police were a bit more lenient but in this phase we have tightened enforcement," he said. "People are also barred from travelling from one district or state to another during this period," he said, adding that additional roadblocks have also been set up at all highways, on both directions in Selangor.

Those found flouting the restrictions can be fined not more than RM1,000 or sentenced to not more than six months jail or both.
