IPOH: Schools in Manjung are expected to be closed as the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading has reached the 'very unhealthy' level of 211.

IPOH: Schools in Manjung are expected to be closed as the Air Pollutant Index reading has reached the"very unhealthy" level of 211.

When contacted on Tuesday , Perak Health Department director Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said based on the National Haze Action Plan, schools are advised to be closed should the API reading be over 200.As of 2pm, the API reading for Ipoh is at 109 and categorised as unhealthy. Meanwhile, state Health, Consumer Affairs, Civil Society, National Integration and Human Resources Committee chairman A. Sivanesan said all outdoor activities at schools would be stopped if the reading exceeds 100."All outdoor activities are to stop until the situation improves," he said on Tuesday .
