KUCHING: Datuk Ibrahim Baki feels honoured after he was nominated to defend the Satok seat, which was held by Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg since 1981.

Ibrahim also said he was speechless upon the nomination as he had served in the last 36 years in various party positions.

“It’s not easy but because of the unity of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu in Satok, it makes my work much easier,” he told reporters when met at PBB’s headquarters near Petra Jaya on Friday . PBB’s candidate for Linggi, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, said Sarawak politics have long been dominated by males and it is time for women to make their mark in local politics.Dayang also said that it is important to field new faces in the election as Sarawakians are yearning for a change.“This is the best time for GPS and PBB to give a chance to youths to prove our leadership capabilities,” added Dayang.

Foo also said the need for change in Pending, adding that he has done groundwork in the constituency since 2016.
