Sarawak may go its own way on Ramadan bazaars

Sarawak Housing and Local Government Minister Dr Sim Hui Kian says the state has yet to decide whether it will adopt federal decisions or vary them. – The Malaysian Insight pic, April 17, 2020.

SARAWAK has yet to decide on whether to hold Ramadan bazaars, as not all decisions made by the federal government are necessarily applicable to the state, Sarawak Housing and Local Government Minister Dr Sim Hui Kian said. Sim, who held the state’s daily Covid-19 media briefing today, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee would discuss if and how Ramadan bazaars could be held, with an announcement to be made soon.
