Sarawak cattle, goats free from foot and mouth disease

THERE have been no cases of foot and mouth disease in cattle or goats raised in Sarawak so far, according to Minister of Agriculture Modernisation and Regional Development Stephen Rundi Utom. He said Sarawak had banned the import of cattle from Indonesia following the outbreak in West Kalimantan.“The Department of Veterinary Services has imposed restrictions or movement control on livestock from disease control areas to other areas.

“So far, the divisions that have been gazetted disease control areas are Kuching, Serian, Sri Aman, Miri and Limbang,” he said in a statement today.Sacrificial rites are performed by Muslims after the completion of the Aidiladha prayers on the 10th of the month of Zulhijjah and the three following days of Tasyriq. – Bernama, July 9, 2022.
