“Operasi ditamatkan kerana tiada lagi sebarang petunjuk baharu ditemukan selepas menjumpai mangsa wanita pada 14 Ogos,” katanya dalam kenyataan, hari ini. Katanya, sebelum itu operasi telah pun dijalankan selama 10 hari meliputi skop pencarian dari udara, permukaan laut, pesisir pantai dan di pulau yang membabitkan seramai 155 anggota, lima aset udara dan 11 aset laut pelbagai agensi.Puah Geok Tin, 57, bersama Tan Eng Soon, 62, dilaporkan hilang selepas terpisah daripada 13 rakan mereka ketika berkayak di perairan Mersing.
Mereka terpisah berikutan laut bergelora dan angin kuat ketika itu namun mayat Puah ditemui di kedudukan lima batu nautika timur Kuala Kemaman, Terengganu pada 14 Ogos lalu, manakala mayat Tan belum dijumpai.
