The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a foldable 7.6' 120Hz AMOLED screen which now supports the S Pen. It's also one of the first two foldable smartphones that's water-resistant.

It’s finally time for Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, and as expected the headline device is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. While its details may have been widely leaked prior to this, we are finally seeing Samsung’s new foldable made official.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has two displays, with the main screen being a 7.6-inch AMOLED display with a 1768 x 2208 resolution. It has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and has support for HDR10+ too. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s display is 29% brighter than its predecessor while also using less power. Its secondary display on the other hand is a 6.2-inch, 832 x 2268 AMOLED display that also has HDR10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera-wise, Samsung has opted for a triple camera setup on the rear cover. Curiously, the main shooter is a 12MP, f/1.8 sensor with optical image stabilisation, flanked by a 12MP, f/2.2 ultrawide sensor and a 12MP, f/2.4 zoom lens. Meanwhile, on the front cover we get a 10MP, f/2.2 camera to use with the secondary display. As for its main display, you may have noticed no notch or punch hole as Samsung have put a 4MP under-display camera beneath the primary screen.

No surprises about its internals here. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 system-on-chip mated to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and comes with either 256GB of 512GB of storage. It’s has dual SIM support as it not only takes the standard nanoSIM but eSIM as well. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the first in Samsung’s Fold lineup to come with IPX8 water resistance certification. Samsung have also tested it by having it survive up to 200,000 folds for maximum endurance.

Other features of note include a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging as well as support for reverse charging. There’s also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, WiFi 6 and NFC support as well stereo speakers. As expected, there’s stylus support too in the form of the S-Pen Pro and S-Pen Fold Edition. You’ll be able to get the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in three different colourways: Phantom Black, Phantom Green and Phantom Silver..
