Samsung will reportedly utilise an in-house SoC for its upcoming wearable, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 series. It’s a significant milestone too as it would be the first 3nm chip by the company, the Exynos W100.

According to Android Headlines which sourced the Korea Economic Daily, the use of the chipset is now allegedly confirmed for the upcoming wearables. Previously, rumours have popped up about Samsung using in-house Exynos chipsets for its wearables, though many thought the SoC was named the Exynos W940.

The report claimed that the chipset is manufactured using Samsung’s second-generation 3nm process node. This makes it the only other foundry besides TSMC to mass-produce chips based on the second-generation 3nm process. Furthermore, the report also said that the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in Paris, France on 10 July. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as Samsung has yet to announce anything.
