PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s new signing Safuwan Baharudin has called on his teammates to be resilient during the trying times caused by the movement control order (MCO) to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Singapore international’s advice is: “We must all be mentally and physically ready for any kind of challenge. We know it is not going to be easy, people can say whatever they want, but as a team, we have to be really strong on and off the pitch. I hope, at the end of it, nobody will be adversely affected.”And Safuwan has taken the forced layoff in his strides especially as it means there’s more time to spend with his wife and two sons, one of them a newborn.

“MCO has been tough on everyone. For me, I get to spend more time at home with my kids, my wife, especially with my second son. “At the same time, I’ve been doing a lot of specialised training to keep fit. MCO is beyond our control. It will not only affect our momentum but other teams too. Hopefully, these few weeks’ break would give us time to sit down and analyse our games and ratify the mistakes.”
