Sabahans, not peninsula leaders, decide who becomes CM, says Shafie FMTNews PRNSabah Warisan

SANDAKAN: Warisan president Shafie Apdal says only Sabahans have the right to decide who would become the state’s chief minister, not any political party leaders from the peninsula.

“This election will be the decider, it’s important for Sabah to be governed by Sabahans without interference from the federal government, when Sabah also was never given the chance to be prime minister or the deputy,” he said at a campaign event here today. He was also joined by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as well as Calvin Chong Ket Kiun and Frankie Poon, Warisan Plus’ candidates for the Elopura and Tanjong Papat seats.

In his speech, Lim urged Putrajaya not to bully the state government and to respect Sabah’s autonomy. Lim and Shafie joined by supporters in the background showing the ‘W’ sign, which stands for Warisan Plus.
