“He has met me, told me he had met with Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal. I have yet to receive his letter. It’s an issue of office politics which he couldn’t handle, ” said Kitingan briefly when contacted on Monday .
Kong previously contested the Melalap and Liawan state seats in 2013 and 2018 respectively, where he lost both seats. It is learnt that Kong will hand over his application letter to join Parti Warisan Sabah when its president Shafie Apdal visits Keningau this Wednesday . Kong’s resignation came amidst intensifying seat negotiations involving the Sabah Opposition alliance.
Nominations for the 16th Sabah elections have been set for this Saturday while polling is on Sept 26.
