KOTA KINABALU: The state government remains committed to providing protection and support services to victims of domestic violence, said Datuk James Ratib.

The state Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister said continuous efforts were also needed to ensure the people were protected from such matters.“I view the matter seriously and want all women in Sabah who are victims to get the proper support and defence.

Ratib praised the organiser for holding the event, saying it was in line with the state government’s goal of creating a society that was free from any violence or mistreatment of people, particularly women and children. After this, he said, Jhewa would be visiting the neighbouring interior areas in Sook, Tulid and Nabawan this July.
