Ivan Golunov is now a free man as Russian police clears him off a drug charge after supporters rallied for him threatening a mass protest.

Moscow police detain a supporter of journalist Ivan Golunov who on Saturday was charged with dealing in illegal drugs.

Russian journalists critical of authorities have led a dangerous existence since the 1990s – sometimes threatened, physically attacked, and even murdered for their work.
