Rundingan antara wakil kerajaan Thailand - ketua perunding, Jeneral Wanlop Rugsanaoh dan kumpulan bersenjata paling berpengaruh di selatan Thailand, Barisan Revolusi Nasional , menyaksikan bekas Ketua Polis Negara Malaysia, Tan Sri Rahim Mohd Noor bertindak sebagai fasilitator tergendala apabila sempadan di Thailand dan Malaysia, ditutup akibat pandemik.

Wanlop berkata pihaknya sedang mencari alternatif untuk meneruskan rundingan sekiranya pandemik Covid-19 berpanjangan dan pertemuan secara fizikal tidak dapat diadakan. Sejak penularan wabak Covid-19 di Thailand pada Januari lalu, Wanlop berkata insiden keganasan di wilayah bergolak telah berkurangan.
