The agency describes the European Commission’s decision that palm oil is not a green fuel as politically driven.

Felda wants the government to retaliate against the European Commission’s curbs on palm oil imports.

Felda or the Federal Land Development Authority also said the decision by the European Union institution was politically driven and was a form of “unfair, unjust and discriminatory protectionism”. Felda said the ban on palm oil would further aggravate the situation faced by smallholders due to low CPO prices and trap them in the poverty cycle as they relied on income from the commodity to secure a better life for their families.
