There were no injuries reported and the area has been sealed off, said a spokesperson from the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council .
MPAJ press relations officer Norhayati Ahmad said that while the rockfall had caused damage to six vehicles inside the apartment compound, the slope was under the management of the council. “MPAJ has cleared the debris from the rockfall and immediate action has been taken to install a netting system on the slope,” said Norhayati.
“For a long term measure, we will have to determine the best solution for slope stabilisation in this particular area,” she added when contacted. She added that signage advising residents not to park their vehicles at the foot of the slope had previously been placed at the site but had been removed.Meawhile, MPAJ councillor R. Moganraj said vehicle owners had been advised to lodge a police report.“We urge the public to report to MPAJ should they notice any signs of landslides or slope failures.”
