PETALING JAYA: Najib Razak says the federal government has so far announced some RM7.3 million worth of projects within less than a week, ahead of the Tanjung Piai by-election next month.
“Let’s wait for any announcement of the ECRL being realigned to include Tanjung Piai,” he quipped in a possible reference to an announcement during the Rantau by-election earlier this year that the East Coast Rail Link project could cover Negeri Sembilan as well. The announcements Najib listed included the installation of 264 street lamps in the rural areas of Tanjung Piai at a cost of RM127,776, and grants worth RM230,000 for village chiefs as announced by Rural Development Minister Rina Harun.
