RM4.9 billion aid handed out to 6.6 million people, says minister

As of April 12, the government says 3.2 million households and 3.4 million single people in the B40 group have received payments totalling RM3.2 billion and RM1.7 billion, respectively. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 14, 2020.

UNDER the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional economic package, the government has handed out RM4.9 billion in aid to 6.6 million Malaysians as of April 12, said Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz. He said the Finance Ministry has approved 8.3 million applications for aid and received 2.77 million new applications and 274,000 appeals for the funds.
