KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 — The ringgit closed firmer against the US dollar today as it staged a technical rebound after three days of losses, said an analyst.
Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid noted that the local currency gained some strength today, in tandem with a slight decline in the US Dollar Index by 0.10 per cent to 106.153 points. “Beyond the technical correction, the interest rate outlook in the United States and the tension in the Middle East will be the barometer for market sentiments in the forex market,” he told Bernama today.
