KEMAMAN: Hujan lebat dan angin kuat selama kira-kira 15 minit menyebabkan hampir 90 rumah di Chukai di sini rosak dalam kejadian ribut, malam tadi.
Katanya, penempatan yang terjejas ialah di Geliga Baharu, Taman Fikri, Rumah Murah Geliga, Rumah Murah Geliga Pantai, Pengkalan Pandan, Kampung Paya Berenjut, Kuala Kemaman, Kampung Besut, Kampung Fikri, Kampung Bakau Tinggi, Seri Berenjut, Mak Lagam, Kampung Gong Pauh, Kampung Geliga Permai dan Dusun Nyior.
“Bagaimanapun, tiada sebarang kecederaan dilaporkan dan kita dapati kebanyakan kerosakan adalah pada bahagian bumbung. “Semua pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pembangunan dan Keselamatan Kampung sudah diarahkan untuk segera membantu kerja-kerja membaik pulih kediaman terjejas,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas turun padang membaiki rumah penduduk hari ini.
Hanafiah yang juga Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri Chukai berkata, kerja-kerja membaik pulih kerosakan kecil dijangka dapat disiapkan hari ini manakala kediaman yang terjejas teruk akan mengambil sedikit masa. -UTUSAN ONLINE
