PETALING JAYA: Datuk Ong Kim Swee is hitting the right notes with Sabah, but he admits that some fine tuning is needed if they want to be among the top sides in the Super League.

The Rhinos are top of the league with 18 points after eight games following their 2-1 win over Pahang at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu on Saturday.

“We were brilliant in the first half but in the second, we lost our rhythm and took things too easy. Let this be a lesson. When we’re leading, we can’t get too comfortable because opponents will punish us,” said the former Malaysia coach.“After that, they went for the jugular but we defended well.“Sometimes, it will favour us, sometimes it won’t. Those taking the penalties must be confident, but even if you are, the goalkeepers can still save them.

Pahang reduced the deficit in the 60th minute through Manuel Hidalgo, but Sabah should have scored two more goals in the second half.Sabah take on Selangor next at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on June 28.
