KEPALA BATAS: A restaurant at Jalan Kampung Paya here was ordered to close for a week after it was found to have violated the conditional movement control order (MCO) on Sunday (May 31).

North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the premise was raided during an integrated operation led by police together with personnel from the state health department and Seberang Prai City Council .

"During the inspection, we also found that there were about 120 to 150 customers in the restaurant and they did not practise social distancing rules," he told reporters after the operation. He said the 42-year-old owner of the restaurant was issued a compound of RM1,000 for violating the conditional MCO.

Went to one mamak restaurant in Bangsar 2 days ago to tapau (opposite end of Mcd). Reprimanded the 'most definitely non-Malaysians' staffs there about not enforcing social distancing for their customers and they gave me dirty looks.
