PUTRAJAYA: There were three times as many recoveries than new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the health ministry said.Twenty new cases were reported, pushing the total number of infected patients nationwide so far to 7,877, with 1,292 active cases.

Of the new patients, 15 were import cases and five were local transmissions. The local cases comprised three foreigners and two Malaysians. At his daily press briefing here today, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 66 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of patients discharged so far to 6,470.

He said six patients are still being treated in the intensive care unit with two needing respiratory assistance.
