MELAKA: Two stateless siblings from Klebang here have had their hopes of getting MyKad renewed after discovering that National Unity and Social Wellbeing Minister P.

Waytha Moorthy will look into their predicament.

The siblings' guardian, Yusliana Ahmad, 57, said she approached The Star for help as the children are in dire straits without MyKad. "The father told me he had not registered his second marriage and only had the children's birth certificates," she said at her wooden house in Pesiaran Balik Buluh, Klebang on Saturday .Yusliana said she reached out to The Star after reading an article about stateless sisters, Nursenah Aksan, 17, and Nurulshuhada, 11, who were allowed to enrol in SMK Kampung Gelam and SK Kampung Gelam with the assistance of the minister in February.

She said they wandered around mosques in Klebang for almost a year before someone tracked down their father.
